The Snapchat filters in London are so cool.
I wasn’t expecting to spend an entire day on Oxford Street, but it happened. I wanted to visit stores that weren’t in Canada, so those included Liberty (this is the prettiest department store EVER), Selfridges, John Lewis, Debenhams, Dorothy Perkins, Mango, New Look, Primark, Superdrug, Boots (<3) and the list goes on. I didn’t do a lot of shopping for clothes, but I did spend some money on makeup…
ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip Review and Swatches – Solow, Bumble, Tulle
If you follow ColourPop on social media, you know that the Ultra Matte Lips have been long-awaited and anticipated by beauty lovers well before the launch date. Many brands have been jumping on the liquid lipstick bandwagon: Anastasia Beverly Hills, L.A. Girl, Lime Crime, and the list goes on. The day the Ultra Matte Lips launched on the ColourPop website… let’s just say the word madness does not describe it enough. I refreshed the page like a madwoman to no avail—that website was just not cooperating with me that day. After an hour of refreshing, I put my laptop to rest.
The next morning, I tried again. A ton of shades were sold out, but all of the shades that I wanted were still available. PRAISE. THE. LORD. (It was a Ramadan miracle!) So I snatched up Solow, Bumble and Tulle.
Onwards to the swatches!
My MAC Eyeshadow Palette | Swatching Oddity
Once upon a time, I was a MAC eyeshadow junkie and collected a whole slew of 15 MAC eyeshadows. There are some eyeshadows in here that I absolutely adore and some, not so much. I’ll share which eyeshadows those are and swatches, too! (Also, if you are wondering why the texture of some of the eyeshadows look strange, it’s because I may have dropped this palette on more than one occasion… oops).
What’s in My Makeup Bag?
There is something intriguing about sifting through the contents of someone else’s makeup bag. It’s because you know that these are the essentials – the things that you need, otherwise all hell breaks loose! (Okay, a little dramatic I know, but you know what I mean) =)
Here’s what I have in my makeup bag:
- Hand lotion
- Rollerball perfume
- Mirror (gifted to me when I received a gift card from Sephora)
- 5 lip products (it’s not excessive, it’s a necessity).
Other things that are in my makeup bag that I didn’t include in the photos are: band-aids, eye drops, Halls, Advil, Tide To Go and a pen. See, I can be practical too. =) But if you want to learn more about the somewhat impractical stuff, then read on…
eos Everyday Hand Lotion: One of my favourite hand lotions to keep with me on the go (bonus: it’s paraben free!) The size is perfect for a makeup or handbag and doesn’t take up a lot of room. I do prefer the pink one more, but thought I’d change it up with the blue lotion. This one has a floral scent, whereas the pink one is more fruity. Whichever scent you pick, the hand lotions are effective at keeping my hands soft and moisturized.
Taylor Swift Wonderstruck Rollerball Perfume: Yes, Taylor Swift. At first, you may think the scent is vomitrocious and best suited for a 16-year-old girl, but I love it! I like sweet scents, so this is right up my alley. I like keeping a rollerball with me for touch ups because nobody wants to be the smelly kid.
Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in Lolita: I love this lipstick! It’s a pinky mauve colour that I think would be universally flattering on all skintones. The smell of these lipsticks are divine (think the vanilla scent of a MAC lipstick, but 10x better). It’s a very matte lipstick, so it can be drying if you don’t prep your lips beforehand.
